Expansion of a production site in Morocco

Challenge

Our customer launched a major investment programme to expand its production site. The project consisted of the construction of two DAP (diammonium phosphate) fertilizer factories with a total production capacity of 1.7 million tonnes/year.

The project also included conveyor systems and zones for acid storage tanks.

Process

  • Following a quarterly visit to our customer in Casablanca, we learnt about the launch of his extension project.

  • Through our customer and our local network, we contacted the boiler making company (the contractor) who would take care of the supply and the assembly on site.

  • The contractor visited the Managing Director, the Project Manager and the Purchasing Manager to introduce VM and organise a meeting.

  • We submitted our offer.

  • Negotiation, award and fine-tuning of the final technical and logistical details.

  • In continuous communication with the customer in order to deliver the materials over 12 months with very precise "time points".

  • On-site visit to observe the proper execution of the supply.

The final result

  • 2 DAP factories with a capacity of 850,000 t/per year, each
  • 4 phosphoric acid tanks (2,000 m3 each)
  • 2 oil tanks (500 m3 each)
  • 1 sulphuric acid tank (300 m3)
  • Total steel assembled: 5,000 tonnes
  • Deliveries spread over 12 months
